Taste wine like a pro', Speak about wine eloquently, Get an international wine certification WSET or WSG

Updated: 8 hours ago

Have you ever found yourself in a social or professional situation where people around the table engaged in a passionate conversation about wine and you felt a lil' left out?

It's time to take your wine IQ to the next level!

Wine & Spirit IQ is an approved program provider for both " The Wine and Spirit Education Trust" and "The Wine Scholar Guild". Two of the most esteemed international wine education programs. As an Alumnae or Alumnus of Silpakorn University International College, you can benefit from a discount when you book for the course before the end of the year. When you book your seat for any of the courses from the WSET or the WSG, you will be prompted for a "promo code": Enter: Vatel & you will get 10 percent discount!

Where to start?

It really depends on (1) your initial knowledge, (2) your level of involvement and (3) what you want to know:

WSET or WSG?

  • If you have zero knowledge and you only want to learn the basics in just one day, the WSET Level 1 Award in Wines is where you should start.

  • If you do not start from zero, and want to expand your breath of knowledge and you are "game" for a lil' challenge: you should skip the WSET Level 1 and dive straight into the WSET Level 2 Award in Wines program: By the end of this 3-day course, you will have tasted over 40 different wines and you will have a solid background on the most commercially-significant grape varieties of the world, where they grow and the wines they produce. You will be able to taste following a systematic approach, make judgement on quality and determine if a wine is suitable for ageing or not.

  • If you do not start from zero and want to focus your attention on one of the top 3 wine producing region of the world, I suggest you choose one of the ESSENTIAL program of the Wine Scholar Guild, on either France, Italy or Spain. This is especially relevant if you plan for a trip to one of these countries or you particularly enjoy cuisines of these countries!

Both WSET and WSG lead to next-level courses: the LEVEL 3 for the WSET) and the SCHOLAR programs for the WSG; all of which are very challenging and demand at least 100 hours of self study to pass the exam.

Do check out our upcoming schedule for the WSET and the WSG, download & study the course specifications and drop me an email or LINE me if you have any questions.
