Sommelier at Restaurant in Phuket
We are a young restaurant company, opening three restaurants in Phuket this year, and we are looking for like-minded individuals to join our team.
Our restaurant features a cuisine inspired by primal cultures. The menu includes many dishes prepared using open fire, smoking, and steaming techniques. It is a large restaurant with 120 seats and a dedicated wine room.
Location: Phuket, Thalang, Choeng Thale
Salary: Base salary determined during the interview + % from bottle wine sales
Employment Type: Full-time
Work Schedule: 6/1, evening shifts
Responsibilities:
- Manage the restaurant’s wine list: selection, updates, and wine recommendations.
- Organize wine tastings and masterclasses for guests.
- Advise guests on drink selections and food pairings.
- Train staff on wine culture basics and proper service.
- Work with suppliers to ensure timely deliveries and maintain stock levels.
- Monitor the quality and storage conditions of wines in the restaurant.
Requirements:
- At least 1 year of experience as a sommelier.
- Professional knowledge of wines, winemaking, and wine regions.
- Sommelier certification/diploma is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills and passion for sharing knowledge.
- Ability to work in a team and maintain high service standards.
- Proficiency in English (preferred).
